October Days

SHINE on, autumn sun as
we take a DRINK of cider, as
we rejoice in the cool breeze even as
we CLING to the last warm days!
Allow no worries to TAINT this moment:
though all signs POINT to shorter days ahead.
Let us hold the future at bay a little,
and, perhaps, find in ourselves,
a JOINT resolution to make:
to embrace and savor each moment in October!
