“I suppose we COULD,” his frown conveyed in tone as well as expression. I watch as he HEATS the water, selects his tea. “That needs to STEEP for only 3 minutes,” I say in my most bossy voice, hoping to jar him out of doubt and into certainty. His chuckle tells me he sees right through my strategy: “Oh how did I ever EXIST without you, let alone make a cup of tea?”

Long before the event, Megan revealed her plan. It was a heavy burden to carry after the fact.
